Loop, Receving, .5 TO 30 MHZ, 110VAC
Dig out previously unreadable signals and track down annoying sources of interference with the MFJ HF Receive Loop Antenna!
he MFJ Receive Loop gives you tremendous power to copy weak stations through impossibly strong levels of QRN or QRM. Covering AM broadcast through 30 MHz and beyond, its superbly directive element and bulletproof lownoise preamplifier dig out buried signals normally lost when using wire antennas. With the MFJ you get:
- Perfect loop balance for deep precise nulls
- DualMMIC pushpull preamplification for wide dynamic range
- Indestructible aircraftgrade inch aluminum loop
- Great portability weighs only /2 pounds
- Mounts using standard TVstyle hardware
- Tough molded weatherproof enclosure for outdoor installation
- Phantom powered with AC adapter and BiasT included
Unlike many ADF loops, the MFJ is weathersealed, very ruggedly constructed, and mechanically stable under all weather conditions. In fact, you can mount it permanently on any inexpensive TV rotor and direct it from the comfort of your shack. Weighing only /2 pounds and measuring inches in diameter, it also installs easily on a tripod or handheld mast for portable use.
The key to the MFJ`s superior performance is its balancedinput preamplifier. Dual MMICs operating in pushpull deliver an extremely low noise floor along with exceptionally wide dynamic range to handle overload from nearby transmitters. As a result, you enjoy crystal clear reception of weak signals along with bulletproof immunity from IMD. Highgain amplification and pushpull symmetry provide perfect electrical balance to ensure deep nulls and accurate directivity.
Installing the MFJ is both fast and simple. Mount it using standard Ubolts on any conventional mast (/4 inch OD or smaller). All mounting hardware is provided. The loop`s preamplifier is phantompowered through coax, so no external wiring is needed for remote installations. Simply use the MFJ BiasT and MFJD plugin AC supply that come with the loop, or use any external volt DC source for your portable setups. All you need is a ohm feedline with PL connectors to connect up the loop plus a short PL jumper to connect your radio to the BiasT. Everything else is included.
With everincreasing interference from consumer devices and digital systems, amateurband noise floors are rising and spurious signals seem to appear from nowhere. However, there`s no need to let increased QRN take the joy out of operating. The MFJ receive loop is a powerful tool that will help you locate those noise sources you can suppress, and null out the ones you can`t!
